Netflix have unveiled the first full-length trailer for their upcoming Marvel series, Iron Fist.
The show has been in development for several years, and will have the unenviable task of setting up some rather complex Marvel Comics concepts; these include the mystical hidden city of K’un L’un, as well as the gruelling trials that go into achieving the sacred title of the Iron Fist.
Game of Thrones‘ Finn Jones takes the lead role of businessman Danny Rand (by day), and is joined by Jessica Henwick who plays the closely-linked comic-book character, Colleen Wing. The series also features some familiar faces such as Marvel-Netflix staple Rosario Dawson, who has appeared as the nurse Claire Temple in every series to-date.
Wai Ching Ho also returns for Iron Fist, after making a memorable debut in the first season of Daredevil. Officially, she is reprising the role of Madame Gao, although some have speculated that she may secretly be the Iron Fist villain known as Crane Mother.
Every episode of Marvel’s Iron Fist will be released to the streaming service on March 17th. The series is the final building block for Netflix, whose next foray into comic-book territory will be the culmination of all their efforts thus far: The Defenders. Featuring a team consisting of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist – with other Marvel characters also set to appear – the series is to debut at an unspecified date in late 2017.
